There are 1.4 million prior service troops at risk of homelessness nationwide. Texas has the third-highest number of homeless prior service troops in the US, with approximately 1,900, at least 300 of those living in San Antonio.
We plan to deploy our “Barndominum” living space concept and construct housing units in compliance with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Single Room Occupancy Program to give prior service troops in need of a place to live, heal, and thrive. By connecting veterans to the services that can better their lives, ensuring they never cross the threshold into homelessness, and helping them learn new skillsets, we will help these troops embark on new careers, restore to optimum levels of health and move towards a new life.
“To inspire troops to meet their potential by investing in their development.”
“To foster a community where troops turn off survival mode and choose to thrive.”
